  • "Reflections on My Life" Joseph Chakkour

Well, I must say, this is most difficult to relate.

While 'Reflections On My Life, Before and After Doctor Dahesh" was a most interesting read, I came away with a huge disappointment and sadness.

My sadness is for the ending!

It would seem that author, Joseph Henri Chakkour, a very good writer and wonderful storyteller finds himself smack dab in the middle of a world full of huge ego, suspicion and paranoia...mainly of his own making.

It would seem, also, that the more connected he became to beloved prophet, Dr. Dahesh...the more he floundered, in the world he was given unto.

Joesph Henri Chakkour discovered a lack of compassion, maybe even unbridled greed deep within himself.

Was it too much to expect, a charitable, more forgiving and more humane person to come forward as a result being with our beloved Dahesh?

The author, found himself unhappy and unfulfilled on this planet of exile, just had Dr. Dahesh did.

    Such the pity!

I agree with you dear Jules. Our guiding beloved prophet had a great influence on every person he met with, furthermore, his writings and words continue to give the reader salvation, peace and heartily faith.

Yes, "reflections on my life" is a great and wonderful and very interesting book, I encourage people to read it.

    God bless you all.

Y.S., it seems you have totally misunderstood Jules's point...
You do understand that Jules was, in fact, troubled by how the book ended, right? Don't just publish expressions of your devotion: listen to what the other person is saying; analyze what is being said; think before you offer formulaic responses.

Greetings, maybe my way of telling the word of God made the matter a little bit different; but I will summarize what I meant by my latest post.

I meant that: Hadn't dear DEAR brother Joseph Chakkour been with our guiding beloved prophet then he wouldn't know the true spiritual meaning of life; he wouldn't have experienced the turmoil and the misery that planet earth is passing through; he wouldn't agree with Dr. Dahesh that life is meaningless without the word of God. Yes indeed, life without the word of God and the prophets (peace be upon them) is meaningless; that's what a true believer will conclude. After enlightenment, a true believer will be sad to know the misery of the world and that he was doing wrong unconsciously.

I believe that I understood what brother Jules meant, I hope that am right.

If am wrong then I would like brother Jules to inform me. i respect him TOO MUCH and I like his posts too much.

Waiting for dear brother Jule'e reply.

        Best regards.

        Y.S.

First of all, there is no being "wrong" here....my opinion is what it is, nothing more nothing less!

Reading this wonderful book by Joseph Chakkour...allowed me insight..whereby, I watched a young boy, fully steeped in Christianity by schooling, by family and expectation...grow into something quite different than one would expect!
As Joseph became more deeply connected & fully committed to an obvious Manifestation of The Divine (Doctor Dahesh) the journey for him seemed to grow more tedious more dissapointing at every turn.
The enormous ego, the distrust, suspicion and contempt for his fellowman certainly did not reflect what a follower of our beloved prophet might demand.
Most would see, the journey was not in keeping with other messengers either..The Buddha, Jesus the Christ, Gandhi, Mother Theresa to site a few.
All of this begs the question....aside from the obvious discomfort, pain and greed that continued to follow the author through his life...Did Joseph feel so disconnected & disatisfied with life here on Earth as to allign himself with Dr. Dahesh on the idea of living a sad and exiled life, from the Divine?

All is well, all will be well Y.S.
Seeing the good, praising the good, I am.

Thanks dear brother Jules for your reply.

I agree with you. Yes Daheshism teaches us that keeping to the word of God almighty, that's sent to us by prophets and guides, will enlighten us and help giving us strength to confront worldly obstacles that that stand against us.

Indeed we believe in Buddha and all prophets including prophet Mohammed.

We can't compare ourselves to prophets. To me, they are merited with high spiritual degrees. They know salvation and they can help us. there is no match between us and them.

But no other religion like Daheshism brought us so vast accurate knowledge about nearly everything.

Misunderstandings may occur but we correct ourselves.

Brother Joseph Chakkour is a true example of a faithful believer. His book will inspire many generations to come.

Of course we are sad feeling exiled but are we experiencing true exile like prophets? I doubt it. Only prophets experience true spiritual meanings.

Dear brother Jules I always admire and respect your words; and and this feeling is increasing in my heart, no doubt.

            Your brother in faith,

            Y.S.
