  • "Hello, you are on the air!"

If you have SKYPE and wish to schedule an interview, you may do so by following these few easy steps (preferably, in the order in which they are presented... Honestly, the things we have to say to avoid confusion....):

    1) Agree to being recorded (we may rebroadcast the conversation over YouTube or anywhere else our blessed little hearts so desire...)
    2) Become a member of Daheshville (if you are not one already...)
    3) Send the Administrator a request for an appointment. (Because we're not always on SKYPE...)
    4) Wait for the confirmation... (Duh...)
    5) Log on to Skype and enjoy your 15 minutes of fame.
    6) We don't mind if you use a fake I.D., provided that you exhibit a genuine personality.

    On SKYPE, we're DAHESHVILLE.

      Skype....

Forgive my ignorance...what is Skype? Do you just need a microphone to use it? Or is this a lot like blog talk radio where you can use a telephone?

Keep in touch with free video chat, messaging & affordable international calls. Create instant online video calls with one click, no download required.

Skype offers a free version of their software that allows free "Skype to Skype" communication. You can use the microphone on your computer. Furthermore, you can use a web cam as it offers video capabilities as well.

You can also call any telephone number using your Computer, however, that requires a paid subscription.

          Sounds fun!

I have a blog talk radio host account I haven't used yet. I think I named it the "Prairie Village Companion" or something. I thought that perhaps my first interview might be with Kaptain Norge at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bmnXsODtlg. But word has it that Kaptein Norge is a fictional character. o fiddle sticks. Oh, well there's always Mario. I'm sure all of Prairie Village is just diein' to know about Daheshism, and so maybe that'll be the first interview.

On Sunday, May 4, 2008... Daheshville's first Skype mini forum took place. Three Daheshists participated in the impromptu discussion of the state of the Daheshist Mission today, the future of Daheshism and the technology that was making the connections between the three Daheshists in three different regions of the world possible. Further action items were discussed for future posts on Daheshville.

With only a few technical delays of signal glitches, Skype showed itself to be a very useful tool to have a conference call and have a discussion in real time with one another. It was wonderful to hear one another's actual voices discussing Dr. Dahesh in real time.

With a few more trial runs and further development of a format, we will more formally announce when these discussions are going to take place and will invite others to join in. The atmosphere will remain relaxed but with proper decorum, much like the gatherings in the salon of Dr. Dahesh's house.

Many of the initial forums will focus on just 'meeting' each other and starting to put a voice and personality to the screen names here on Daheshville. From there we move to the inevitable questions of how we each came to hear of Dr. Dahesh. As more people participate we can moderate multiple forums so that everyone is not talking over one other, or the format can be formulated in to a lecture series for a larger group to listen to and then smaller groups can be formed after for any followup question and answer sessions.

Thank you goes out to those that participated in the test run...

            David
