This is what our esteemed member Mohammedre Posted in the Visitor Message area (see his profile). We initially couldn't decipher it. But then, we remembered that we had installed an "ARABIC" version of Daheshville (where the user can toggle the language of the menus etc. back and forth between Arabic, English, and French) So when we flipped the ARABIC language on, we saw this message.

Here is a rough translation:

Basically, Mohammedre was very impressed with Doctor Dahesh, especially after having read two of his books (One about his Miracles and the other being Strange Tales and Wondrous Legends). He is saying that he realized that this wondrous Man (we're paraphrasing) was chosen by GOD and that GOD gave him the Abilities/Powers that bring people back to GOD Hallowed by His Name, and that he called for the Unity of Religions and he said that all Religions are GOD... and that they (the Religions) are from one source. And he continues by saying that what is so beautiful is that he (Doctor Dahesh) wanted people to get passed their fanaticism/intolerance towards other religions... and that he is expresses himself beautifully and shows sensitivity and that he (Mohammadre) wishes to know a lot more about Doctor Dahesh and about the answers he provided to some of the people mentioned (in the book about the miracles) and that he hoped to have more of his books and Memoirs ... especially those books in which he revealed some of the secrets of the Universe and the riddles of life... and lastly he hoped that we welcome/accept him as a member and a friend and he thanks us for granting him membership into Daheshville.

Before I respond to your excellent question, and due to the fact that I am going to try my best to reply in Arabic, I pray that you will forgive any error in grammar and/or diction on my part. As you know, a failure to write (or practice) in any particular language is a sure way to become rusty in it. And, I might add that translating Arabic into English is a lot easier than writing in Arabic itself (for me, anyway) especially that I neither own Arabic Software nor an Arabic Keyboard. But, in America, we have a saying "Where there is a will, there is a way."

حتماً ، إن الرمز الروحي الداهشي الذي وصفه الصحفي لطفي رضوان في كتابه " معجزات وخوارق الدكتور داهش " ، كان رمزاً مكرّس لهدف واحد اساسي . وهذا الهدف كان إعطاء الراغب بأن تعقد له (جلسة روحية ) وسيلة — أو آداة — تسمح له أن يقدم طلبه للقوة الخالقة .

English translation of my response To Mohammedre

Here is the literal translation of theresponse in Arabic to Mohammedre. Kindly note that the response was written IN ARABIC, and then translated to English.

As for the question: Mohammedre wanted to understand the difference between the Daheshist Symbol in which a person asks for a Spiritual Session and the one (referred to as the "Normal" — as in "Standard") Symbol.

It is a very valid question, especially that the Daheshist Publishing Company kept publishing the version— no longer applicable — on the back of the Dr. Ghazi Brax Lecture in Belgium (which was held years after the Doctor's passing).

So, it is a very valid question. The answer below did cover this issue here and there (on Daheshville) already. However, it wouldn't hurt to revisit it.

The other question had to do with whether or not the Spiritual Fluids "descend" when Mohammadre performs the prayer and is the request granted. As far as that particular issue, the response used a big-picture approach and pointed him to a couple of links on Daheshville.

Indeed, the Daheshist Spiritual Symbol that was described by the journalist Loutfi Radwaan in his books "Miracles and Prodigies of Doctor Dahesh," was a Symbol that was dedicated for one principal goal. And that goal was to give the person who desired that a " Spiritual Session " be held for him, a means — or a tool — that permitted him (her) to present his (her) request before the creative force.

In other words, that Symbol becomes a specialized prayer, different from the Daheshist Spiritual Symbol that the Daheshist (man or woman) performs. In the first case, the Symbol for requesting a Spiritual Session was written and burned once — daily — and for a period of one whole month. And under the five-pointed Star was written "That I would be granted with a Spiritual Session with His Permission He who is Exalted".

Whereas the "normal" Symbol — if I am permitted to utilize this description — it is written and burned twice ever day, at 6 o'clock in the morning and in the evening. Or, once anytime between 6 a.m. and noon, then another time between 6 p.m. and midnight. And under the five-pointed star is written "That I would be granted with a Spiritual Assistance with His Permission He who is Exalted."

However, and being that the age (or era) of the Spiritual Sessions and the Prodigies (or Miracles) has ended with the decease of the Beloved Guiding Prophet, the "normal" Symbol becomes the "official" one.

The Daheshist Spiritual Symbol is in essence a prayer like any humble prayer offered by the believer (man or woman), regardless of their religious affiliation (or creed), and thus we can say that the Daheshist Spiritual Symbol is a Prayer specific to the Daheshist Religion.

Answer to first Question...

لا شكر على واجب . بما يتعلق بالسؤال الأول ، وبناءً على كل ما رأيت وسمعت و قرأت ، نظم وقوانين الداهشية بحد ذاتها لا يمكن تغييرها . كما انني أعلم أن كان للدكتور داهش أصدقاء ومحبذين من جميع المذاهب الدينية .

إذاً، هذا يدل على أنه لا يوجد شرط - أو شروط - ترغم المرء أن يكن داهشياً - بكل ما تعنيه هذه الصفة - أو أن يترك دينه من أجل الداهشية كي تفيده التعاليم الداهشية . بالمزيد عن ذالك يجب علينا دائماً أن نتذكر أن عامل النسبية في تطبيق مستمر . وهنا أعطي مثلاً مهماً :

هل كان الشجاع جبران مسوح داهشياً ؟ هذا يعتمد على كيف نريد أن نحلل الأمر : كان هنالك داهشيين - أو من يعتبرون داهشيين - لن يرفعوا إصبعاً خلال فترة الإضطهاد . لنقرأ ما كتبه الدكتور داهش في قطعته "وداع عام ١٩٤٤ " من كتاب ((حدائق الآلهة توشيها الورود الفردوسية - ذكريات الماضي )) ص. ١٣٧ :

"ومثلما ذكرت . . . لقد كانت هذه المحنة للإمتحان ،
إذ بلغني هلع بعض المؤمنين وإبتعاد بعض الإخوان .
وهنا تذكرت مثل السيد المسيح الخالد:
(خرج الزارع ليزرع ) ؛
فحزنت نفسي لضعف النفس البشرية وتفضيلها المادة ،
هذه (المادة ) الحقيرة الفانية . . . على الروح الأزلية الخالدة."

كما قلت في البداية ، إكتمال عناصر الداهشية ، أو أية عقيدة روحية موهوبة من الله ، مهم . فالله وحده يعلم الأسباب التي حكمت على كل مرء أن ينتمي لمذهب معين .

ولكن لنأتي لمسألتك الخاصة . طبعا ، و دون معرفتي لتاريخك الخصي الشامل - على الأقل - إنه من المستحيل أن استوعب مجموعة الظروف التي جعلت أن تشعر بقرابة مع الداهشية .

لذلك سأقول التالي :

ما دام يوجد السلام والإنسجام في نفسك ، لا أرى أي مانع - أو محرم - ان تبقى مسلماً وأن تحافظ وتتبع تعاليم القرآن الكريم بينما في نفس الوقت - ومثلاً - تكتب وتحرق الرمز الداهشي .
ولكن لا يمكن - ومثلاً عن جديد - أن تغير عناصر الرمز ، لأن هذا حتماً من المحرمات.

و قبل أن أكمل جوابي ، ربما يجب أن أقول التالي - وذلك رداً على ما سمعت عن لسان أخ داهشي أخبرني أنه يوجد حالياً تيار صراع بين بعض هؤلاء الداهشيين الذين تزوجوا مع غير الداهشيين أو الداهشيات :

هنالك فرق كبير بين الذي يريد أن يتبع دينه الأساسي وبنفس الوقت يرحب بالداهشية ويسمح لها أن تمارس في بيته بدون تكسيرها ، وبين الذي يقول لزوجته الداهشية "أنا داهشي كلي! " ثم يحاول أن يجذب زوجته (أو الزوجة زوجها) نحو دينه/ها الأصلي .

وهنا نعود للشرط الأساسي الذي طرحته فوق : إذا يوجد تصارعع مستمر ، إذاً نصيحتي هي أن يبقى الشخص في دينه الأصلي

إذاً ، إذا حافظت على أسس الداهشية ، وبناءً على ظروفك الحالية ، لا أرى أي ضرر.

و حتى ... و حتى إذا النتيجة الوحيدة من (كل هذا ) كانت أن تبقى مسلماً وأن يكبر ويتعمق ايمانك بالإسلام - وتذكر ما قلته بخصوص "النسبية" أي يجب دائماً أن نقيس نفسنا بنفسنا - سأكون سعيداً لك .

English translation of my response To Mohammedre

Again, and for the benefit of those who are learning Arabic, I am providing a translation of my reply to Mohammedre, and which I had written in Arabic.


No [need to bestow] thanks upon a duty (1)

With regard to the first question, and based upon everything that I have seen and heard and read, the rules and laws of Daheshism in of itself cannot be altered. As I also know that Doctor Dahesh had many friends and admirers from all religious creeds.

Therefore, that points to a lack of requirement — or requirements — that a person must be a Daheshist — with all that this adjective may mean — or that he or she [must] leave his or her religion for the sake of Daheshism, in order for that person to benefit from the Daheshist Teachings.

In addition to that, we must always remember that the factor of "relativity" (with a lower-case "r" as in "All things being relative" versus Einstein's Relativity) is in constant application.

And here, I give an important example:

It is known that the Journalist Gibran Massooh, a guest of Brazil, wrote long [and hard] about the crime that was perpetrated by the Criminal Bechara El Khoury, and that he defended Doctor Dahesh and Daheshism and the Daheshists. And that journalist what the only journalist who "defended that which was right in his magazine" .

Was the brave Gibran Massooh a Daheshist?

That depends on how we wish to analyze the matter: There were Daheshists — or those who were considered to be Daheshists — who did not lift [as much as a] finger during the period of the persecution.

Let us read what Doctor Dahesh wrote in his piece called "Farewell to the year 1944" from the book "Gardens of the Gods Adorned by the Paradisiacal Flowers — Memories of the Past " p. 137:

"And as I have mentioned... this ordeal was a test,
as I was informed of the fear of some of the believers and that some of the brethren distancing themselves.
And here I was reminded of the immortal parable of Jesus Christ : ' The sower went outside to sow' ;
and my spirit was saddened due to the weakness of the human spirit and its choosing matter , that worthless and ephemeral 'matter' ... over the immortal and eternal Spirit."

As I said in the beginning, maintaining the integrity of the elements of Daheshism, or of any Spiritual Faith that was a Gift from God, is crucial. For God only knows the reasons that dictated that each person belongs to a particular Faith.

However, let us come to your specific case. Of course, and without my knowing your full personal history — at [the very] least — it would would be impossible for me to absorb the totality of all the circumstances that made [it so that] you feel kinship with Daheshism.

That is why I say the following to you:

As long as you experience peace and harmony within yourself, I don't do not see any objection — or anything forbidden — to your remaining a Muslim and that you preserve and follow the teachings of The Noble Koran while at the same time — and for example— that you write and burn the Daheshist Symbol.

However, you cannot — and as another example — alter the elements of the Symbol, since that is certainly [among the] forbidden.

And before I continue with my reply, perhaps I should say the following — and that is in response to what I have heard from the mouth of a Daheshist Brother who had informed me of the existence of a current of conflict between some of those Daheshists who had married non-Daheshists.:

There is a big difference between a person who wishes to continue following his or her own principal religion while welcoming Daheshism and permitting IT to be practiced in his/her home without breaking IT apart, and between one who says to his Daheshist spouse "I am a total Daheshist!" only to try and draw his/her spouse towards his/her original faith.

And here, we return to the principal conditions that I have laid out above:

If there exists a constant struggle, then my advice is that the person remains in his or her original faith.

Therefore, if you preserve the principles of Daheshism, and based upon your particular circumstances, I don't see any harm.

And even... and even if the sole outcome of "all this" is that you remain a Muslim and that your faith in Islam grows even greater — and remember what I have said with regard to "relativity" , in other words, we must always compare ourselves to ourselves — I will be very happy for you.

With regard to the subject of [our request] being granted ... Firstly, yes, you can add to the Daheshist Spiritual Symbol your personal request and that would be: between the line that contains the principal request "That I would be Granted with a Spiritual Assistance with His Permission He Who is Exalted" and the line containing the name and date.

However, all that — and despite how important it is — represents only the formal aspect of the process of the informing the Creative Power with that which we need. Besides, we must not forget that the Creative Power does not in in truth need us to ask IT any thing because IT knows every thing.

I had heard Doctor Dahesh say in the vernacular Arabic : "Do your duty and leave the rest to GOD". And I would like also to point our attention to the fact that no Daheshist in existence — and since we are discussing those Daheshists who touched the Divine Power through the spiritual Mircales and Prodigies — and who were from among the closest of the closest to the The Beloved Guiding Prophet, of them "The Dear Sister Marie Hadad" and numerous brother and sisters ... there doesn't exist one Daheshist person among them who did not taste the bitterness of suffering.

And of course ... Doctor Dahesh himself ... Who among the Daheshists tasted what Doctor Dahesh tasted?
