  • Dr. George King

I PMed this to Mario, and he suggested I post this in the forums:
    -----------
    Ever hear of this guy?

"On July 23, 1958 George King claimed to have had a physical contact with an extraterrestrial being who had had one life on Earth, as Jesus. This contact occurred on top of Holdstone Down, in North Devon, England. During this contact, he said, great power had been sent out, specifically to prevent a war brewing in Lebanon; this had also caused the hill itself to be charged with spiritual energy. Holdstone Down is now a regular place of pilgrimage for members of The Aetherius Society."

    Homepage: http://aetherius.org/

It seems the main activity of the Atherius Society is to say these 12 blessing prayers that they believe Jesus gave them via George King often in order to bless and uplift humanity, the Earth, and Heaven. They believe it to be an extension to the Sermon on the Mount.

Something very interesting they do is charge a "battery" with the prayers. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkHKFEir0LA) They do this either on the mountains that have been spiritually charged by Ascended Masters via George King, or within their centers. The idea is that because it is difficult to organize hundreds of people to pray at a moment of crisis, that the prayer energy can be stored over time, then later released quickly at critical moments for areas around the world they feel need those prayers.

Unfortunately, they don't make the details of the blessing prayers readily available to the public on their website except in the form of a book $16.95, tape collection $110, or new CD collection $150. Well, I guess $150 is reasonable for 14 CDs considering the cost of some of the writings of Dahesh which have gone up because of their rarity of print.

I did find this interview/overview of the 12 Blessings on YouTube:
    Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlnvG6fl2Gs
    Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wa_uVXPJ-Kg
    Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FxvKA91KH4

They believe strongly in the practice of meditation and mantra, but state that the action of serving others takes precedence. I found this quote: "Sevice is the Jewel in the Rock of Attainment!"

Another interesting note relating to other threads: Dr. King confirms the idea that Jesus came from the planet Venus.

Daheshism does not support the claim that Jesus came from the planet Venus.

I'll just comment on the first paragraph (the one you initially sent me)

Regarding "preventing" the war that was "brewing"...

In May of 1958, a civil war began in Lebanon. By the time the Americans landed on the shores of Beirut (where people still went swimming and sunbathing... hey, life goes on...and you really have to know the Lebanese mindset to appreciate the comedy... It's a lot like when we see an episode of M.A.S.H... ) anywhere between 2,000 and 4,000 people were already dead. (source : Lebanon, Death of Nation, by Sandra Mackey)

        Thank you for noting that.

I was referencing previous posts I had made addressing a possible connection.

Would it mean He originated from Venus, or perhaps He sometimes hangs out there while monitoring the Earth? I doubt that He originated there because He originated from God as all of us have, including the energy and matter of the planet Venus....hmmm

There I quoted Wikipedia which, is has been considered by many to be an unofficial source of information (just like my superficial summary of what I have learned so far). I do not know the author of the article nor what he or she intended to say in writing that passage. My guess is that the event was to prevent the war from getting even worse and possibly the timing aligned with his readiness to be there as a witness to it. (This is not to say spiritual events did not take place in behalf of Lebanon prior to this occurrence without his being a witness to it.) I will see if I can find another, more authoritative, source that mentions the war in Lebanon.

Or, it could be 100% fabrication.

In 1948, the poet Haleem Dammoos The Daheshist published a prophecy on behalf of the founder of Daheshism.

I have a copy of that prophecy. It is scary. Towards the end, there was an invitation to the people of Lebanon to repent and feel remorse. The result? Everyone laughed ...

            1958 was a small reminder...

              Observations.....

While watching The History Channel presentation of the Mayan Indians and their calendar, they mentioned an ancient leader that left them with the promise to one day return. The lore was that he had an elongated head. The Mayans attempted to deform their children by strapping bands around the heads of their children so their heads would be elongated.

He left them with all this technology that they didn't fully comprehend, consequently they turned to false gods, demons, human sacrifice, etc. The math system he gave them could easily be used effectively on an abacus like devise, mechanical computer, or a modern day computer. You have already heard about the building skills they mastered.

I did further research. If I had been listening more carefully, I would have heard that the individual referenced above was a god (a feathered serpent that lived among the Mayans and the Aztecs) and taught them how to live and all that they knew. This god had an association with Venus. I'm guessing, when he finished his task, he left with a promise to return. If there is better information available, please let's have it.

But the one thing I thought curious was the importance of Venus in there astronomical observations. Maybe it was that it was an easy point in the sky to locate. Maybe it was something more.

It's a shame he didn't return before the Spanish arrived! Or, ......... maybe he was among the Spanish and was irritated by the fact that they performed human sacrifice. Maybe the experiment was a failure.

                Why I mention George King

This is why I stopped on this one:

Last week, I felt very....feeble, battered, introverted, powerless...etc... because of my daily struggles. Part of Sunday and Monday, I had a painful pressure headache which I knew involved a spiritual source because it felt like something moving around with the sensation of inflammation. While trying to rest, I prayed intensely for the Lord's healing help, to help me to become one with him, gain confidence in myself again, understand what it is I am supposed to be doing here, and what Daheshism had to do with it. The headache wasn't going away and I could feel negative spiritual fluids around me. I asked my husband for a blessing. It was a beautiful blessing and in the blessing he said, "Heavenly Father wants to give you the gift of the Savior..." among other things such as "write in your journal" which admonition I have heard before and more or less neglected. Also, that the Lord is aware of my suffering and that I shall find relief soon. However, the headache did not go away, and I still could not rest, but I felt an interesting vibrational sensation within me.

I got on the internet and started to search, "Jesus spaceship" because I was trying to re-find a story I remember reading online many years ago about a woman who was brought on board a spacecraft with small beings on board who led her to a central room in which Jesus stood and bathed her in warmth and love.

I couldn't find that story, but discovered other ET encounters. Some of them were obviously bogus to me since those with the claims had obviously mishandled to either gain control over people and/or convince people to indulge in selfish gratifications.

I found a website that claimed that the "four horsemen" had already come to pave the way for Jesus' return, and listed their names. (It wasn't really clear to me where the website got its information.) I wondered what these men had done to deserve such a recognition from this website. I did a search on each of them. They were all ET contacts claiming contact with Jesus. I researched each one individually on Wikipedia. Two of them were race car drivers. One of them hosted sexual freedom camps, so that was a huge red flag. One of them was George King.

The article about George King gave me a more genuine and pure impression of this person...and it mentioned Lebanon, so, I investigated further and clicked on the link to the website of his Society found in the article. As I went to their website I started to notice the energy radiating from their website. I continued to read further and felt the pressure of a positive being standing behind me. I soon felt other beings surround me. Many hands were touching and massaging my head and my heart. My head tickled pleasantly and the headache was more or less relieved. I felt the energy in me uplift and the feeling of introversion and powerlessness turn into strength and confidence. It was a very powerful experience and I was in tears, experiencing a direct answer to my prayers. I started browsing other websites as I was experiencing this, and the energy started to wane. Noticing this, I went back to the http://www.aetherius.org website again. I started reading quotes from King and the energy became almost overwhelming... I cried again and thanked Jesus for what I believed to be His answer to my prayers. I felt impressions again to purify myself and my surroundings, that everything of the world would be destroyed. Admonition to throw away my video games (a lifelong addiction) as they have been wasting my time and dragging me down preventing me from achieving my potential, and that I won't like what will happen to me if I don't. Also, when I read about the practice of energy healing on the website, I got the message, "You've learned this, why don't you start doing it!" "I know, I know." I cried to myself with lingering feelings of self-doubt and doubt (and prejudice) towards the practice despite what I was experiencing. I started asking the Lord to help dissipate the blockages and fears that were strongly in my mind, which lifted a bit, but not all, they're still there.

Later, as I was posting my first post to this forum and writing about the 12 blessings and researching them, the energy I felt elevated again. As this was happening, my husband, oblivious to what I was doing, started playing a beautiful arrangement of church music on YouTube. Suddenly, it was like I was viewing a panoramic scan of silver structures and beings of white with a backdrop of high vibrational frequency colors, mostly a yellowish gold interwoven with threads of green and purple which lasted for about 3 seconds. This blew me away.

I substituted today, and when school was out, I was sent to the library to help organize books until our release time. I started thinking about what the Lord wanted me to write in my journal aka autobiography. As I was contemplating different experiences and challenges in my life, both good and bad, I thought I should write about, after awhile, my gaze was drawn to the ceiling where hung a banner which read "You are the author of your life story." I couldn't help but chuckle at the irony.

I thought, I need to get these events written down somewhere, soon, before it disappears in the oblivion of my battered mind. Lucky you.

                  FYI Item

I located the post where Mario explained what "Haleem Dammoos" had written. The main part was as follows:

Simple: Go and read (if you can) page 49 of "Strange Tales and Wondrous Legends Part 3"

As the prologue to the lengthy chapter that contained (in part) a reprint of the warning that poet Haleem Dammoos ( "Father Halim" ) published in the forties and which ended up being a true prophecy about the Lebanese Civil war, you'll find an equally chilling warning. This time, from the pen of Doctor Dahesh himself.

This passage—written after the bloody civil war began— is a warning to Lebanon: That if it repeats its behavior, it shall suffer the fate of the City of Atlantis and that it shall disappear from existence and that it would be nothing more than a legend handed down from generation to generation.

The post was dated 07-04-2008, 7:06 PM.

"So, I got on the internet and started to search, "Jesus spaceship" because I was trying to re-find a story I remember reading online many years ago about a woman who was brought on board a spacecraft with small beings on board who led her to a central room in which Jesus stood and bathed her in warmth and love."

Wingedpaladin, The image of Jesus arriving in a space ship is something that would trouble me. Think about it. Someday we may experience an encounter with intelligent life arriving in some sort of vessel, but for certain the experience will stretch our mind and imagination. If an advanced intelligence wanted to visit this world, they could probably do it without us even knowing they were here. However, if some creature with intelligence does visit this planet, I could use a little "warmth and love" myself.

I think the most interesting thing about George King is his use of Yoga to focus the mind on spiritual thought. I personally believe that George may have accomplished some spiritual milestones. However, being a human, he is limited by the laws of earth. Some of his claims appear extraordinary and unverifiable. His use of prayer along with meditation in my mind could be extremely effective in some cases though.

The "bloody civil war" Doctor Dahesh is referring to is the civil war that began in April 14, 1975 war (and not the 1958 war)

Also, it is worthy to note that in this whole chapter (written in 10/10/1976) is a conversation between the Winds of Lebanon and America.

In any case, the comment above regarding the war of 1958 being a warning is a personal opinion and should have been noted as such.

Maybe the wrong war, but do we have the right prophecy? Or were you referring to some other writting of Haleem Dammoos?

                        It's the same one.

In 1948, Haleem Dammoos (who was given the prophecy) relayed it to the press.

In 1976, Doctor Dahesh quoted it in that chapter that ended up in his "Strange Tales and Wondrous Legends, Part 3 ", and to which the comments regarding Atlantis were added.

                          12 Blessings

What interests me the most here is the 12 blessings and how it is performed in the Aetherius Society - they give the 12 blessings like an active prayer and radiate the love and energy of it forward. I had always before read the beatitudes as something more passive given as instruction, "If you choose to be this way, you will be blessed." Wednesday night, I pulled out my Book of Mormon and read 3 Nephi 12. something stood out to me which hadn't before in verse 1:

"And it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words unto Nephi, and to those who had been called, (now the number of them who had been called, and received power and authority to baptize, was twelve) and behold, he stretched forth his hand unto the multitude, and cried unto them, saying: Blessed are ye if ye shall give heed unto the words of these twelve whom I have chosen from among you to minister unto you, and to be your servants; and unto them I have given power that they may baptize you with water; and after that ye are baptized with water, behold, I will baptize you with fire and with the Holy Ghost; therefore blessed are ye if ye shall believe in me and be baptized, after that ye have seen me and know that I am."

(This detail is not mentioned in Matthew 5...but then Jesus told the Nephites that He shows them greater miracles than He did the Jews because of their faith in Him.)

Thus it struck me that Jesus here was giving the people of ancient America (if not the world) a blessing at that very moment.

                          Connections/Similarities

Below is the LDS scholar Hugh Nibley's commentary on Egyptian archeology and the Book of Abraham:
Part 5 - Hugh Nibley - Faith of an Observer - *Video* Mormon

"I made it [the principle of plural marriage and being sealed to Joseph Smith] a subject of prayer and I worried about it because I did not dare to speak to a living being except Brigham Young. I went out and got between three haystacks where no one could see me. As I knelt down I thought, why not pray as Moses did? He prayed with his hands raised. When his hands were raised, Israel was victorious, but when they were not raised, the Philistines were victorious. I lifted my hands and I have heard Joseph say the angels covered their faces. I knelt down and if ever a poor mortal prayed, I did. A few nights after that an angel of the Lord came to me and if ever a thrill went through a mortal, it went through me. I gazed upon the clothes and figure but the eyes were like lightning. They pierced me from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet. I was frightened almost to death for a moment. I tried to waken my aunt, but I could not. The angel leaned over me and the light was very great, although it was night. When my aunt woke up she said she had seen a figure in white robes pass from our bed to my mother's bed and pass out of the window."

("Mary Elizabeth Lightner, Address at Brigham Young University, April 14, 1905," typescript copy, BYU Special Collections, Harold B. Lee Library, Provo, Utah, 1-3.)

"One of my earliest recollections [of Joseph Smith] was the dedication of the Temple. My father took us up on his lap and told us why we were going and what it meant to dedicate a house to God. And although so very young at that time, I clearly remember the occasion. I can look back through the lapse of years and see as I saw then Joseph the Prophet, standing with his hands raised towards heaven, his face ashy pale, the tears running down his cheeks as he spoke on that memorable day. Almost all seemed to be in tears. The house was so crowded the children were mostly sitting on older people's laps; my sister sat on father's, I on my mother's lap. I can even remember the dresses we wore. My mind was too young at that time to grasp the full significance of it all, but as time passed it dawned more and more upon me, and I am very grateful that I was privileged to be there."

("The Autobiography of Sylvia C. Webb," Saints' Herald 62, no. 12 (24 March 1915): 289; see also Karl Anderson, Joseph Smith's Kirtland: Eyewitness Accounts (Salt Lake City, Utah: Deseret Book, 1989), 182-83.)

The dedication of the Kirtland Temple... was nothing short of a Pentecostal experience.

From lack of knowledge and experience, I am ignorant of any similarities of this with Dr. Dahesh and his teachings, etc.

                            Hugh Nibley

The first time I heard of Hugh Nibley, I was in high school and a friend had told me that when he was young, he sat in a library and read every book in that library from one corner to the other. I don't remember which library it was. I thought perhaps it was the BYU library existent at the time he was a young man. The BYU Harold B. Lee Library now is 6 stories high and has undergone an underground expansion a little over 10 years ago.

I met Hugh Nibley by the elevator of the BYU library and I was so much in awe of being in his presence, I could say little more than "hello." I saw him once more in passing on the sidewalk on the BYU campus. He passed away about three years ago, but left a legacy of scholarly work, especially concerning the Book of Abraham and Egyptology.
