  • God have mercy on evil people II....

....because I'm not exactly feeling brotherly love right now.

Yesturday afternoon got a little more eventful than I had anticipated. Apparently whilst I was doing laundry and cleaning my kitchen a deluded soul decided to shoot at a cop, flee the seen, whip into a mall parking a lot and start shooting people. For starters he shot two people dead, one to the right of him and one to the left. Then he started randomly shooting at whatever...including the store my wife manages.

He was loaded for bear, him and his rifle, but fortunately he was a lousy shot. He shot at an elderly couple fleeing him into the store (missing them)...so bullets were flying in. My wife went into total "mom" mode, pushed the six employees (teenagers) on duty into the trash elevator, locked the door, pushed the button and sent them to the basement out of harms way. Then she moved the metal lockers over the elevator entrance. All this in less than a New York minute. Then she hid behind a closed door. As far as we know he entered the mall through our store...and then started to shoot things up on the way to Target.

Fortunately law enforcement made short work of this uncaring, evil, sniveling, cowardly and absofriggin'lutely thoughtless person, and he got to meet his maker this afternoon...and She's mad as Hell, I'm sure of it! Yeah, they say he might have been mentally ill. But c'mon.

Anyway, I'm sure my wife will not quite be herself the next few days and the kids will need counseling. Please keep her in your prayers.

    Dear Brother,

I feel deeply sad and sorry for what happened to you and your family and I do share your pain ...

I heard these terrible news on the radio this morning and after Virginia Tech Campus … I couldn’t believe that this was happening again …

I also said to myself: "Kansas city" … it's the area where Zionic lives ... hoping that everything was "ok" with you ...

Looking at such violence and imaging innocent people and families devastated … My GOD we feel overwhelmed by grief …

Your wife and children will be in our prayers …

May God be with you and all those who are innocent victims of this fury …

Zionic...you and your family are in my prayers. I am glad to hear your wife is safe...and what a brave and thoughtful woman for so quickly taking care of the people around her.

It does seem as if there has been an ever increasing dark scourge or plague released upon our world. The cloud of these unthinkable acts appears to be ever growing... sadly, demented acts such as committed by this individual are becoming more and more commonplace.

We share your joy and relief that your wife is ok.

I understand your very honest comment that you "do not feel brotherly love right now." Who could NOT understand your feeling this way? ...or the families of those affected feeling this way? Part of our prayers for you and part of your healing process is working through these antagonizing feelings.

By the very expression of your character of being able to come here and post your feelings and share your story and look to others to pray for your wife's healing... it is clear how far you have come emotionally through your inner emotions.

Your wife is a hero and those six teenagers were very fortunate to have been under her care. They owe their life to her, because she protected them as (you eloquently put it) a "mom" would her own.

More importantly, she makes us believe in the higher human spirit, and thus reminds us that whatever we might be doing, and whatever obstacles that come our way, it is still worth doing...

Most certainly your wife, the young people in her charge, the dead and injured will be in my prayers. But I will also be offering a prayer of thanks for your wife's quick and selfless thinking.

Thanks, y'all. She is a wonderful person. It's gonna be a hard week I think. Please keep us in mind.

Apparently the shooter had been wounded by an officer he had shot in the arm a few minutes previous to pulling into the mall parking lot. I'm not sure where the officer hit him, but his injury prevented him from doing a whole lot more damage...I mean that mall was packed, and he could have took out 30 or 40 people before the cops could have gotten to him.

The shooter's family is of course taking this very hard. He had mental problems, was an alcoholic and refused help for the condition he was in. Nothing really that they could have done, but no doubt they'll be asking themselves what they could have done anyway.
