  • Reference guide for writing the Daheshist Prayer

The Daheshist prayer is one of the most sacred vehicles of prayerful communication for a Daheshist. It is not magic… it is a sacred communion between what is deep in our hearts and the Creator of all things… given to us by our Beloved prophet, Dr. Dahesh.

I am in the process of putting together The Daheshist Prayer for Americans “cheat sheet” and "kit". The “cheat sheet” is modeled after the prayer I originally learned from Mario. It is also to serve as an in hand compendium reference guide to the prayer video series that is here on Daheshville (and YouTube).

The “sheet” is an enlarged (8 1/2” x 11”) version of the prayer similar to the one used in Mario’s video series. I have annotated in English the various components essential to writing the prayer. Also included in the "kit" are sheets of the yellow paper I’ve had pre cut to the appropriate size for the writing and burning of the actual prayer.

These are the same notes (and translations) and reference compilations that I use to write my prayer. I do not speak or write Arabic. I developed these notes as a guide for those times where every so often… I just draw a blank as I am in the middle of writing the prayer…or when sometimes over time, I think my “Arabic” is getting sloppy… yes, it happens…. And while certainly over the years I have memorized the words, their meanings and how to write the symbols appropriately… well, when Arabic is not your native tongue… when you draw a blank on what is next… you sometimes just can’t get out of there… so that is what this sheet is for…a guide, a reference…

The Daheshist prayer is to be performed twice a day. The first prayer of the day is to be performed sometime between 6:00 am and 12:00 noon. The second prayer of the day is to be performed sometime between 6:00 pm and 12:00 midnight. I also understand that a special prayer can be performed at other times as one’s life dictates… as in giving thanks for being spared some calamity, or as a special prayer requesting specific help for a particular situation (as in illness, for example).

I do not specifically know if it is mandated to be in this sequence, but I also perform the prayer at the end of the day (at 6:00 pm, after the days of fasting from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm) prior to having my meal for the day that breaks my fast. Days of fasting (no food or water) are the 6th and 20th of each month…

Also included are side notes for writing the date and time.

I do not know the level of interest for this here in the Daheshville Community. Everyone needs to follow the journey that makes sense to them… None the less, we wanted to make this available to interested registered members (in good standing) of Daheshville as they come along in their way.

If anyone is interested, please PM me for more details… and I will also post them here as things are finalized.

    Take care.
    David
